Terms of Use
By using Mintboxd (“the app”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is provided by Mintboxd.
1. What the service is
Mintboxd is an app for recording, rating and reviewing the physical media you own, and for sharing it with other collectors.
Mintboxd is not a marketplace. There is no selling, payment, commission, escrow or shipping in the app. Marking an item “open to trade” is a label and nothing more. Any sale, trade or gift between users is entirely between those users; Mintboxd is not a party to it and takes no responsibility for it.
The app is free today. If we introduce a paid feature at any point, the price will be shown clearly before you buy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If the minimum age in your country is higher, that age applies.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you give us.
- Keeping your account and password secure is your responsibility. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us if you notice unauthorised access.
- One person may use more than one account, but accounts created to impersonate someone or to evade a ban will be closed.
3. Your content
Everything you upload, including reviews, notes, photos, messages and the names of your shelves and lists, stays yours. Ownership does not transfer to us.
You do grant us a limited permission so that we can display it: to store, reproduce and format your content as far as running the app requires, and to show it to other users where you chose to share it publicly. This permission is royalty-free and is used only to provide the service. We do not use your content in advertising and do not sell it to third parties. The permission ends when you delete the content.
You confirm that you hold the necessary rights to what you upload. Do not upload other people's copyrighted material without permission.
4. What you must not do
- Post unlawful, hateful, harassing or threatening content.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Post sexual content, graphic violence, or anything that harms minors.
- Spam, bulk promotion, fraud or phishing.
- Scrape the service with automated tools, overload it, attempt to bypass security measures, or reverse-engineer the software.
- Collect or publish another user's personal data without their consent.
5. Moderation and enforcement
Users can report content and accounts from inside the app. Where we believe these terms have been broken, we may remove content, limit its visibility, suspend an account temporarily, or close it. For serious breaches this may happen without prior notice. If you want to appeal a decision, write to us via support.
6. Catalogue data
Release metadata and cover art in the app are compiled from open sources such as TMDB, Discogs, MusicBrainz / Cover Art Archive, Open Library and MobyGames / IGDB, and are enriched by user contributions. We do not guarantee that this data is complete or error-free. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we will correct it.
This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
7. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Exactly what deletion does and does not cover is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Warranty and liability
The app is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the applicable law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, data loss, or disputes between users arising from use of the app. Nothing here affects consumer rights that cannot be limited by contract.
9. About Apple
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, these terms are between you and Mintboxd, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will announce any significant change in the app; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Türkiye. Your rights as a consumer are unaffected: where the law of your country of residence lets you bring a claim before your local consumer body or court, this clause does not take that right away. Any other dispute falls to the courts of Türkiye.
Governing law and jurisdiction not decided yet. This will be filled in before the app ships.
12. Contact
Contact address not decided yet — a real email address will be published here before the app ships.
